It’s been raining a lot the past few days. And I don’t particularly like rain ‘cos I’d fall sick whenever I’m caught in the rain. It stems from a subconscious self-fulfillment thing that dates back to my childhood years when my mom used to say: “stay out of the rain or you will fall sick”.
This morning, it was raining as I make my way to work. It is bad enough that I’d to peel myself from the sheets in this weather perfect for snoozing; I’d to hold up the umbrella to shield the onslaught of raindrops and carefully thread the water puddles to avoid wetting my shoes and pants.
Then a quote came to mind:
"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning how to dance in the rain."
In an instant, my mood changed for the better; I started listening to the rhythm of the raindrops tip-tapping on the umbrella and threading the puddles as if dancing to the symphony of the rain. Problems will always be present in our lives, but we hold the power to rise above them and find contentment anyways.
